¿Who is SaltShaker?
SaltShaker Ministries is a ministry that serves the Body of Christ by providing support and resources, with the purpose of helping it pursue the dream the Lord has for the communities where it is present.
Our vission
Local congregations led by pastors and ministers who are physically, emotionally, and spiritually healthy, reflecting the Father’s love in practical ways, following the example of Jesus Christ.
Our Mission
To develop skills in Christian leaders and pastors by providing resources and support, so they can carry out practical actions aligned with the vision the Lord has for the communities where their congregations and ministries serve.
How We Work?
Because of its strong focus on serving leaders and pastors, the members of SaltShaker Ministries actively work to develop collaborative networks that help identify local congregations or ministries that desire to improve or implement practical community care initiatives.
Today, these networks include churches and congregations that have worked with SaltShaker missionaries and their partners in the departments of La Paz, Oruro, and Beni, Bolivia, over the past several years.
How Long Has the SaltShaker Team Been Working in Bolivia?
For several years, this work was carried out under the name RockSalt Ministries, because of the connection we had with this ministry based in the United States.
From that time on, the work focused on three specific areas:
Unity of the Body of Christ
We understand the unity of the Body of Christ as a response to the prayer lifted up by the Lord Jesus Christ in John 17:21
that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. John 17:21
Awareness and Sensitization
This area of work sought to help churches understand that the needs of their communities are also their own needs. After all, what can the Church do if it does not know and address the needs that exist around it?
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16
Provision of Resources
Spiritual understanding, awareness, and action are elements that must be continually developed and strengthened. At times, this requires training, mentoring, strategic partnerships, or financial resources.
For this reason, the work we carried out involved identifying needs and looking for ways to respond to them through our ministry partners, missionaries, and volunteers.
After several years of providing specific training in areas such as child protection, project development, and biblical depth, alongside partners such as International Justice Mission, Word to the World Mission, and Bright Hope International, we came to understand the need to focus more intentionally on walking alongside the leadership of the Church.
This was not only because demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ in practical ways — through projects, community outreach, and other ministry efforts — requires additional leadership skills, but also because it is very common for pastors and leaders to give their best in serving others while, often without realizing it, neglecting their own lives, health, and families.
